The best Rails tutorial out there for MVP'ing an idea

I was thinking about MVP’ing an idea a few weeks back around languages and crowdsourced translation. The default way to do so (in my mind at the time) was via Launchrock. For some reason I had the thought of building it myself (as a learning project) and actually went so far as to google ‘launchrock signup rails’ and boom in flew this site!

I’m really glad as it’s one of the best tutorials I’ve found for what I’m interested in doing. Many Rails tutorials focus on building something like a shopping cart that certainly has a place but let’s be honest Shopify and other’s have the market well cornered in e-commerce. This tutorial hits all the major points from authentication to setting up mailing lists via mailchimp to even explaining basic git commands and BDD for nubes and finally managing deployment to Heroku.

Launchrock on rails

A grand thank you to Daniel Kehoe for putting it all together, check him out at: http://blog.railsapps.org/

I don’t really know how it happened, but I’m very glad it did. Zero ( as in 0.0000) emails in my inbox right now. Hallelujer!
